I set up my blog initially as a place where I could try and share what I felt was the essence of gaming without creating a rant blog... but games are dull and I remain unimpressed. Growing up during the advent of the home console, I experience home gaming in it's most raw form. Now, as you said, it's all about the marketing. Games are no longer intuitive pixelated works of art, but are just cash cows.

Gaming was a haven for true geeks.. now it's "cool" to be considered a geek regardless of how little of a geek you are. Anime used to be cult, now it's main stream. All the things a geek could hold true and dear are mainstream and polluted.. kind of like what happened with skate boarding and other extreme sports.

The game industry is polluted and poisoned. I'll be waiting for the "magic" to return.Richyhttp://www.thefullgamut.comnoreply@blogger.com
